Emma Murphy

Candidate for Council

As a proud registered nurse with clinical experience in public, private and aged care, I now work with an innovative service providing emergency care to aged care residents, where I advocate to  improve conditions for employees and patients.

I have consistently taken a collegiate approach to amplify the voices of healthcare professionals in challenging environments, providing evidence before the 2019 Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety at the start of my advocacy journey. Following this I embraced the opportunity to advocate on both a professional and grassroots level with some examples including; speaking at the ANMF Biennial Conference, presenting at the Nursing Now Finale in Federal Parliament, as a panellist for the ITUC -Global Day of Action, speaking at rallies, lobbying politicians, and participating in EB negotiations to name a few.

I am committed and determined to ensure our collective needs are heard and addressed. If re-elected as a member of council, I will continue to tirelessly work to create a stronger, more united membership that can achieve long-lasting improvements for our profession.

Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
