Julia Brownlie
Candidate for Council
I am an endorsed Nurse Practitioner working in the Emergency & Trauma Centre at RBWH. I have been nursing for 24 years, in 4 different countries, across community, acute care and emergency and critical nursing, 13 as an endorsed NP.
I am qualified with clinical expertise and further postgraduate training in Emergency, Women’s health, Sexual Health, and Forensic Sexual Assault. I was the first NP at the RBWH ETC, and have led several NP initiatives, including support of the Nurse Led Walk in Clinic. I was Project Lead for the EB 11 Nursing Scope of Practice Project, exploring barriers to nurses working at full scope. I am a strong representative on national committees for clinical practice and NPs, such as women’s health guidelines; and an Adjunct Lecturer with QUT.
I am passionate about unleashing the potential of the entire nursing profession in clinical, leadership, governance and political roles, ensuring that nurses are recognised and rewarded for their essential central role in health service delivery.
Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
