Lillian Muchiri

Candidate for Council

I am a Clinical Nurse with the Homeless Health Outreach Team on the Sunshine Coast.

I have been working with Queensland Health for 13 years. I started at Rockhampton Base Hospital ED for two years as a registered nurse. Later worked in the acute inpatient setting. I completed a Masters in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Queensland in 2017.

I have been an active member of QMNU for 13 years, two years of which I was a delegate. I have witnessed how strongly QNMU has fought and achieved for its members. I am a strong advocate for the QNMU’s goals and I have participated in forums to discuss and address workplace health and safety, ratios, and other issues affecting nurses and midwives across Queensland.

If elected, I promise to represent everyone and work closely with the nurses and midwives including those from the CALD backgrounds. I will ensure fair and equitable services.

We are privileged to live in this beautiful country, with the freedom to stand up for what we believe is right. Our QNMU members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong and we are asking for your vote.
