My name is Michelle Sunderland and I am a Registered Nurse working across both the private and public sectors of nursing. I am currently employed within the private field, in Critical Care and public field in Acute Medical as a Clinical Facilitator. I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 23 years, becoming a QNMU member whilst a student nurse having many first hand experiences for picketing and advocating for advancement of our entitlements, pay rises and improved working conditions.
I have been heavily involved within Enterprise Bargaining, Nursing Consultive Committees, participating with activism and heavily advocating for the advancement of working conditions, safe workloads, safe nursing care, safe access to information for nurses at the point of care; and improvements in wages plus, supportive care for our nursing staff.
I believe we should have fair representation of the diverse nursing community. Representation across the regions, inclusive of access to the resources, support, opportunities and training the tertiary hospitals have experienced access to over the years.
Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
