Nikki Emblen

Candidate for Council

I am a Registered Nurse, current QNMU Councillor, and have worked in the private sector for over 10 years. My career began as a Patient Care Assistant, then as Enrolled Endorsed Nurse. I currently work as a community nurse in West Moreton.

I am a mother of 2 daughters aged 15 and 22 yrs. I believe in empowerment and living life with no barriers, speaking up for injustice and standing by your own morals and beliefs. I enjoy the simple things in life, walking my two dogs, beach days, gardening and hanging out with my family.

I believe in growing our voice and continuing to advance the professional standing of nurses and midwives across the state. The advocacy of QNMU’s members and officials was key to securing big wins in ratios, legislation to count babies midwifery care and huge reforms in aged care.

We achieved that by working together, in line with our nursing and union values, we secured large scale reforms. With your vote, I look forward to continuing this important work.

Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
