Norma Love

Candidate for Council

I am an EN IV medical nurse with 17 years’ experience, consisting of 12 years on Respiratory, Infectious Diseases and Renal, and 5 years as a Dialysis Nurse at Greenslopes Private Hospital (GPH). I became a Health and Safety Representative and QNMU Delegate and Representative 3 years ago.

I am an active member of the GPH QNMU Branch, representing my colleagues at the QNMU Annual Conference for the last 2 years. I’ve attended the annual May Day march, rallied at GPH during enterprise bargaining and rallied outside Parliament. I regularly attend MODs and education events to keep up to date with changes affecting the private sector.

I participate in our union to ensure wages keep up with the cost of living and conditions of work are constantly improved. I am nominating for QNMU Council so that members at GPH have strong representation, and Council is kept aware of issues affecting members in the private sector.

If elected to Council my focus will be on member services, member recruitment and campaigns around enterprise bargaining and WHS.

Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
