Raquel How

Candidate for Council

I am currently a Nurse Practitioner working for West Morton Prison and Youth Detention Health Services and a co-owner of RnD Health, a Nurse Practitioner led Telehealth Service. I have been a keen union activist for most of my 26-year nursing career both in NSW and Queensland.

Having previously been a QNMU Councillor, I understand the effort required to address the big issues – like workforce shortages.

Working in both the public and private sectors I have a keen understanding of the issues faced by nurses across the state.

I thoroughly enjoy representing nurses from all across the state. I believe every nurse deserves quality and fair working conditions, fair and equitable remuneration and support in their working life.

I have also been a local branch delegate for prison health both locally and at a state level. I have also previously also been a part of the QNMU policy committee (QPC).

Being part of a united union movement in Queensland is a passion that I enjoy and wish to continue for many more years to come.

Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
