Samantha Woodhouse

Candidate for Council

I am a registered nurse with over 30 years’ experience in public hospital and aged care nursing across both Queensland and the UK. I have worked in all direct care roles and personally developed to my current position as a Nurse Practitioner specialising in Geriatric Medicine and working solely in aged care facilities across Southeast Queensland.

I am committed to contributing my knowledge and expertise to benefit all QNMU members. I am a staunch advocate for aged care and, as a frontline nurse, am constantly focused on driving positive change for those we care for.

I practice transformational leadership and champion clinical credibility. Raising appreciation for the speciality of older persons nursing at every opportunity.

Supporting nurses and midwives in clinical practice is a key driver for me, and encouraging agency in safe decision-making provides me many moments of personal achievement and professional pride.

I would be honoured to be voted on to QNMU Council for a second term and will work tirelessly to advocate for all nurse and midwives.

Our QNMU Members United Team has a track record of success, a plan to keep nursing and midwifery strong, and we're asking for your vote.
